Diamond Ruby Coleman

I’m Diamond Ruby Coleman, a 4th-year medical student at Carle Illinois College of Medicine and your 2024–2026 SNMA Region II Director.

I’m pursuing anesthesiology, passionate about building equity in medicine, and always finding space for joy along the way. Born and raised in Chicago, I live for Chicago house music 🎶 and if I weren’t in medicine, I’d probably be on stage doing stand-up comedy.

Fun fact: I used to be on an All-Star Cheerleading team. Toe touches were my claim to fame! Now I unwind with adult gymnastics 🤸🏾‍♀️.

My toxic trait? I never answer the phone. My phone lives on Do Not Disturb. Please text before you call. Thanks, Management. 

Each year, I like to set a theme for our work, and this year it’s Building Connections. I want Region II to feel like a true community—a space where we support, uplift, and grow with one another.
